Robert A. Anderson, Sr., a lifelong resident of Revere, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Melrose Wakefield Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.
Born and raised in Revere, Robert was one of fifteen children of the late Jacob and Abigail (Samuels) Anderson. Growing up in a large and close family, he learned early the values that guided his life: work hard, care for each other, and stay loyal to those you love. That sense of loyalty remained the heart of who he was.
For more than twenty years, Robert worked as a foreman at Modern Shrinking in South Boston, where his steady work ethic and reliability earned him respect of everyone who knew him. Providing for his family was always his first priority, and he took pride in leading by example. To his sons, he passed down the importance of hard work, respect, and loyalty.
In the summers, Robert could often be found at Revere Beach, where he and his wife Grace brought their young family almost every day. He also loved playing basketball and billiards with his sons and never missed an opportunity for a good laugh or conversation.
Robert's big heart, and unwavering devotion to his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Robert will be remembered for his loyalty, and his love of family. The values he lived by will continue to carry on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Akins) Anderson. Devoted father of Robert A. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Danielle of Medford, and Michael E. Anderson of Revere. Dear brother of Arthur Anderson, Frances Boyce, Elizabeth Gordon, Dorothy Long, Lillian Anderson and the late John Anderson, George Anderson, Mary Squadrito, Frederick Anderson, Richard Anderson, Theresa Poto, Lorraine Cantone, Jane Lamoli, and Charlotte Thompson. Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Grace, Justin, and great-grandfather of Ava, Nico, Arya, and Ayden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather in honor of Robert’s life at the Chapel at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 9:00am, followed by his Graveside Service at 10am.
