Robert was born December 19, 1947 in Percy, Illinois to William R. "Bill" & Wilma E. (Morgan) Baker.
Robert married Patricia N. Worley in 1969 in Chester, IL. She preceded him in death on February 5, 1984. He then married Mary L. Capps on January 25, 1985 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2001. He then married Lula Belle Williford in 2011 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2018.
He is survived by his son, Robert N. Baker of Herrin, IL; granddaughter, Patricia K. Lyell and husband Brian of Marion, IL; children, Theresa & Charles Frost of Herrin, IL, Julie & Dave Kane of Florida, Tim & Vicky Capps of Energy, IL, Hank & Liz Isbell of Herrin, Pearl Alstat of Carbondale, Karen Isbell and fiancé, Gary Robinson of Herrin, and Betty & Kelvin Walker of West Frankfort, IL; grandchildren, Natosha, Talitha, & Matthew Frost, Benjamin, Sarah, & Rebeccah Pierce, Larla & T. J. Capps, Jeremiah & Shelly Reagan, Jeffrey Isbell, Jeffrey (J.D.) Severs, Holly Isbell, Caycee Isbell, Cody Alstat, Michael, Joseph, Nevaeh, Marie, and Makayla Walker; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; daughters, Christina M. Cook and Cheri L. Worley; sisters, Nina Baker, Wilma L. Baker; two grandchildren, Mellissa and Gabrielle; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Abbi, Jacob, and Emma.
Funeral Services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025 at West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin with Pastor Jordan Griffith, Pastor Dustin Griffith, and Pastor Terry Griffith officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Private graveside services will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Blairsville Cemetery in Cambria. Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to West Monroe Apostolic Church Educational Building Fund, 1609 West Monroe Street, Herrin, IL 62948; envelopes will be available at the church.
