Robert Balazs

Robert S. Balazs, 81 of Warm Springs, GA died Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Mr. Balazs was born June 13, 1944, in LaGrange, GA, the son of Steven and Blanche Bennett Balazs. He was retired with the State of Georgia Department of Transportation as part of the surveyor division in Woodbury, GA. He was a member and deacon at County Line Church in Warm Springs, GA He also served as church clerk for over 10 years. Mr. Balazs enjoyed playing his guitar at church and with other groups, he was also a big bluegrass listener. His favorite bluegrass performer was Rhonda Vincent. He was a NASCAR fan especially Jeff Gordon, he was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. His favorite activity was spending time with his three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha Smith Balazs, son-in-law Mike Shackett and brother-in-law Wayne Grantham,
He is survived by his daughters Tina McClendon and her husband Allen and Karla Shakette all of Warm Springs, GA. Grandchildren Chelsie McClendon of Augusta, GA, Haley Shakette of North Port, AL and Kyle McClendon of Warm Springs, GA, sister-in-law Marlene Grantham of LaGrange, GA and niece Laura (Crystal) Grantham of Acworth, GA.
Funeral services for Mr. Balazs will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with interment following in the Meriwether Memory Gardens, Manchester, GA. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
