Robert M. Barbato

Robert "Rob" M. Barbato, age 69, of Harborcreek, passed away at his home lovingly surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was born in Erie on February 28, 1957, son of the late John and Amelia Barbato.

Rob was a 1975 graduate of Tech Memorial High School. He was part owner of the well-known family restaurant called Barbato's Italian Restaurant since the age of 10. Rob worked with his parents and brothers at the restaurant and was still involved in the industry at the Perry Highway restaurant.

Rob was first involved at St. James R.C. Church as a Eucharistic Minister and most recently was active at Harborcreek Baptist Church. He was previously a member of the La Nuova Aurora Club where he enjoyed bocce and the Lawrence Park Golf Club and also Eastway Bowling Lanes. Over the years, Rob was the assistant coach for the Harbor Creek Little League Baseball and the Harbor Creek High School Golf Team.

Rob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Barbato; four children, Joey Rogan (Ellen), Robert Barbato Jr. (Lauren), Amelia Madara (Andrew) and Monica Barbato; two brothers, John Barbato (Robyn) and Michael Barbato (Michelle); five grandchildren, Troy, Dominic, Isabella, Colton and Theo; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Jessica Geiger and her team for the wonderful care given to Rob these past four years.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Harborcreek Baptist Church, on Saturday, March 21st at 11 am, conducted by Rev. David Roach.
