Robert Joseph Bartels, age 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 27th after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 18, 1953, in Appleton, Wisc., son to Robert and Esther (Vosters) Bartels. Robert started working in 1971 in the Products Department of Roloff Manufacturing in Kaukauna and retired 47 years later as the Shop Superintendent for the foundry. Following his retirement, Bob and Gail moved to Pembine where he had been building his dream home – a cabin in the north woods.

Bob was an avid hunter, fisher, builder, and overall project 'putzer'. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sharing his love for the outdoors.

Bob is survived by significant other, Gail Bartels; siblings, Gary Bartels, Sandra (Dan Strand) Bartels, Daniel Bartels, Diedra (Vince) Krueger, Margie Bartels; children, Donna (Michael) Garrity, Mark (Tammi) Bartels, and Amy (Mike) Paine; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by parents Robert and Esther Bartels; daughters, Melissa Bartels, and Bobbie Jo Bartels.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Northwoods Chapel in Pembine. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Northwoods Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
