Robert Baur known to everyone as “Bob” passed peacefully in his sleep Sunday September 24th.
Bob was born in Jamaica, New York and was a true New Yorker through and through. He grew up in Long Island and loved his time playing football Harborfields High School. After graduation he started his career in Radiology which brought him to White Sulphur Springs in upstate New York and then to the beautiful Eastern Shore, finishing his career at Dorchester General Hospital.
Bob was a lover of photography, cooking, music, history, Sunday football, cigars and a smooth bourbon. He loved a good joke, a good debate and a good meal. He never passed up a chance to tell a story, prove his point or brag about his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tough on the outside, Bob was a teddy bear on the inside and lived his life according to his own rules, always chasing a dream.
He will forever live in the hearts of his wife and best friend, Dianne Baur, their three daughters Nancy Esposito, Suzi Conaway and Rebecca Redmer along with “the sons he never had” Robert Esposito, Otis Conaway, Scott Redmer and Lantz Perry. He leaves wonderful memories of laughter and fun with his grandchildren, Anthony Esposito, Lily Abbott, Sophie Perry (Darius Keller) Jacob Redmer, Luke Redmer and Maddie Redmer. He was thrilled to be able to become a great grandfather to Ryker Abbott and Keegan Keller.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 27th from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm at the Newcomb & Collins Funeral Home, Cambridge.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 28th at Noon at Grace Methodist Church in Cambridge. (501 Race St) with his good friend, Pastor Micheal LaClair officiating.
