Robert J. Bennett, affectionately known as "Papa Bennie" was a lifelong resident of East Boston. He passed away after a brief battle with prostate cancer. He passed away peacefully on September 9th 2025, while he was surrounded by family.

Born in Boston, he was a devoted son of the late Elizabeth and Robert Bennett. Cherished brother to the recently deceased Elizabeth A. Bennett.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen and their two dear sons, Robert and Rebecca Bennett, Paul and Caryn Bennett. Cherished sister Lillian J. Bennett of East Boston. Brother Ronald V. Bennett and his wife Tina of Connecticut. Loving uncle to Laura and Jered Kraszewski, Andrea Bennett.

Cherished Grandfather to Dom Bennett, Shawmut Bennett, Nova Bennett, Great Uncle to Stella Kraszewski, and Jered Jr. Kraszewski.

Robert worked for over 48 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He worked in the IT Printing department alongside friends and colleagues.

Robert loved spending time with his family. Often remembered for colorful discourse especially around the holidays. He was an avid reader and sudoku enthusiast. He enjoyed having deep conversations, trying to sway people to see his perspective. He often spent his time reminiscing of the life of friendships with the late William Mank, and Stanley D. Matys Jr.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 16, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home in East Boston. A committal service will be held on Wednesday the 17th at 10 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. May He rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
