In Loving Memory of Robert "Bob" Bird Robert "Bob" Bird of Clawson, Michigan, formerly of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born in Miami, Florida, to Alton and Jenny Bird, Bob spent his childhood in the warmth of the Miami sun before pursuing a career in the skilled trades. After attending trade school, he worked as a dedicated boring mill operator until his retirement in 2016.
On August 12, 1983, Bob married the love of his life, Marilyn. Their bond was built on deep friendship, love, and more than 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, loyalty, and lasting memories.
Bob was a true family man. He found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments-spending time with his children, grandson, and neighbors, and always making time for friends. In his quieter hours, he loved reading and relaxing with a good Western or action movie.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his children, Andrew (Andrea) Bird, Anthony Bird, and Christopher (Alice) Taylor; his cherished grandson, Charles; and his brother, Richard (Debbie) Bird. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Jenny, and his brother, Alton Bird.
A memorial service to honor Bob's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a family-led celebration of life beginning at 12:00 PM. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to join in remembering a man whose kindness, strength, and love left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
In honor of Bob, we encourage you to bring a favorite story or memory to share. Your reflections will help us celebrate the joy and love he brought to our lives.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
