Robert W. Bloss (Bobby) died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 75 due to lung cancer.
He was a Navy veteran who served on submarines. His love of the ocean only grew from there. Later becoming a master plumber, builder and inspector. He was good with his hands and could fix anything. He loved any new gadget that came out. Outside of work he loved fishing, boating and enjoying beers with friends. Known as Poppy to his 3 cherished grandchildren that he would do anything for like swings in the garage and epic trips to the beach. His quick wit and jokes are what most people remember and love about him. He was one-of-a-kind that left behind great memories and will be deeply missed.
Bobby is fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. His extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and combined family grew to be some of his best friends. He is mourned by his wife of more than 49 years, Darlene, his son Wayne and wife Janet, daughter Cheryl Sheehy and husband Ryan and 3 grandchildren - Autumn, Madelin and Christopher Sheehy. Also mourned by his brother Fred, sisters Valorie and husband Ron Jaggie, Cheryll Bloss and partner Jon Maynard.
Visiting will be Saturday, November 13 from 11:00am - 2:00pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
