It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Frank Freyer, lovingly known as Bob, who left this world peacefully in his sleep on July 9, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Born on November 26, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey, Bob's life was a testament to resilience and the power of love.
Bob dedicated many years of his life to his career as a lead salesman for Benjamin Moore paints in the northeast, where his infectious personality and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. But more than his professional achievements, Bob was a devoted husband to Edith Sharon Freyer, the love of his life, and a father to his four children: Scott R.J. Freyer, Kristin Milewski, Meghan Freyer Campbell, and Ryan Freyer. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Helene Green, Howard Poppel, Robert Poppel, and David Poppel with the same loving care he extended to his own children.
Bob's love for his family extended beyond mere words; he worked tirelessly to make amends for past demons and truly valued every moment spent with them. His commitment to personal growth was evident as he celebrated a remarkable 24 years of sobriety, turning his life around and offering inspiration to those around him. He was not just a dad; he was a steadfast supporter, a friend, and a beacon of hope for his loved ones.
While proud of his family, Bob also found joy in other passions. An avid golf enthusiast and a devoted fan of his sports teams, he proudly cheered for the Yankees and Jets. His personality radiated warmth, charm, and humor—traits that drew people to him effortlessly. He had an uncanny ability to be a friend to everyone, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Bob was a veteran of the US Army National Guard (New Jersey), having served honorably during the Vietnam Era from 1963 to 1970. Deploying overseas protecting our nations interests, He carried the pride of his service with him throughout his life, exemplifying dedication and courage to his family and community.
In remembrance of this kind soul, friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on July 22, 2025, at the Copperas Cove Location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will take place later that day at 2:00 PM in Killeen, Texas. Followed by a Celebration of Life/ Visitation/ Wake after the funeral at the VFW Post 8577, 1506 Veterans Ave, Copperas Cove, TX 76522 3:30 PM 22 July
Bob Freyer's legacy will undoubtedly live on through the countless memories and hearts he has touched throughout his journey. Though he is no longer with us, the love he leaves behind is profound and everlasting. He was a “dam good husband” and a cherished father, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
