Robert J. “Bob” James, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. He was born in Milwaukee on September 29, 1948, the son of Thomas and Josephine (nee Henning) James. Bob was a 1966 graduate of Boys Tech in Milwaukee. On November 4, 1967 he married the former Sharon Dellemann at St. Rita Parish in West Allis. He had worked for many years at the Medical College of WI, retiring in 2013.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Sharon of Waukesha along with their children Michael (Melissa) James of West Allis, Jennifer James of West Allis, Christopher (Bonnie Jean) James of Pittsburgh, PA and Jonathan (Tami) James of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Aaron (Sarah) James, Meaghan James, Mikell McCanna, Megan McCanna, Ryelin, Aelyn and Packer James and Alana and Andrew James and great-grandfather of Xavier Crump and Liam and Owen James. He is further survived by Alan Billings and Wendy Jo Murphy who were like children to Bob and Sharon, his half-sister Dolores Trieble of West Allis, sisters-in-law Virginia Weldon, Pat James and Barbara James, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and John and his sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Vincent Vitrano.
Private family services were held. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in Spring 2026. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
