Our beloved Robert “Bob” Edwin Kinnebrew, (87 yrs) born June 10, 1937, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 2, 2024 at Atrium Hospital in Macon GA. He was surrounded by family while he shared memories and joked with everyone before his passing.
Bob is survived by Mary Kinnebrew, his lovely wife of 64 years; and his sons Jeff Kinnebrew (Mona), Dr. Todd Kinnebrew (Monica), and Cliff Kinnebrew (Stephanie); late daughter Valarie Starling (Todd Starling); and 26 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob was a native of Florida, living in Jacksonville, Tampa, and South Daytona. Bob spent a majority of his life in the Daytona Beach area where he graduated from Mainland High School. He went on to attend GA Tech, UT Knoxville, and New York Tech Universities. He spent a professional career in Daytona employed with Florida Power and Light as a Manager and Engineer, and was noted by fellow employees to be one of brilliance, knowledge, and a professional pleasure to work with.
Bob and Mary were married in 1959 at First Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach and were devout Christians throughout their life. Bob spent many of his early family years supporting his children in church and school functions, family camping, family weekend outings, soccer, Boy Scouts, football, wrestling, choir and piano recital functions, weightlifting, and track. He was also a member of the Army National Guard. A patriotic Bob flew the American flag daily off his front porch and loved the United States of America.
Bob and Mary moved to Hainesville, GA in 2020 and became active members of Houston Lake Presbyterian Church. Bob was viewed by his children’s friends like another father, one stated: “One of two greatest men in my life was your Dad, the other was my Dad.” Another friend stated, “We both did well in the Dad department, as we were blessed with excellent, caring, yet stern role models who led by example. I will truly miss Bob, as will everyone who was fortunate to know him. He will be missed by all who knew him”.
The Funeral Service for Bob will be at Houston Lake Presbyterian Church in Kathleen, GA on July 5, 2024 at 3:00pm. Bob’s Graveside Service will be at Daytona Memorial Park in Daytona Beach on July 13, 2024 where he will be laid to rest next to his late Daughter Valarie Lynn Starling at time to be announced.
