Robert Ray Lyon passed away on October 10th 2024, at the age of 63 after a short battle with ALS.
Everyone knew him as Bob, but the people who loved him most called him Papa. He was a Chef for 47 years and cooked for many distinguished people and establishments. He took pride in his work and loved creating ice carvings. He could make any food taste awesome and touched so many lives from the kitchen before retiring in November 2023.
Bob was loved by everyone he met and had a contagious smile. He took pride in watching his children and grandchildren play sports throughout the years. He loved to hunt, fish, and cheer on his Steelers with a Coke in his hand.
Robert (Bob) was born on December 28, 1960, to Bob and Betty (Nign) Lyon. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Jan Lyon, of 33 years, his three children, Ross (Rachel) Young, Brittany (David) Myers, Joshua (Ashley) Lyon. Grandchildren, Brooklynn, Logan, Greyson, Olivia and soon to be Everett, many siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral and prayer Service will be held at 12:30 pm. with Father Fritz as celebrant followed by a celebration of life service which will be held on Sunday October 20th, 2024 from 1-3 pm at Saint Benedicts Catholic Church 2207 -3rd Street SE Canton OH 44707
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to honor Bob's memory, donations may be made to a culinary scholarship in his name at Canton South High School.
