Robert "Bob" Arthur Padgett, born on February 10, 1958, in Billings, Montana to Charles and Delores (Helzer) Padgett, left this world on October 4, 2025, at his home in Wright, Wyoming. He lived a full life, characterized by hard work, adventure, and a zest for the great outdoors
The family resided in Bridger where Bob spent his early years. An alumnus of Bridger High School, Bob carried the values of education and perseverance throughout his life. He may not have married, but his heart was big, welcomed friends with open arms, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
After graduation Bob moved to Wyoming where he started working in the Uranium mines in Shirley Basin. Bob’s career in the mining industry took him to various mines in Campbell County, where his expertise and dedication made a lasting impact. His professional journey even led him across the ocean to Indonesia, where he worked at a gold mine, embodying both a sense of adventure and a commitment to his craft.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Bob found immense happiness in hunting Elk, Moose, and Deer. These excursions into the wild were not just about the thrill of the hunt; they were moments of reflection, a time for him to connect with nature and share stories amongst friends and fellow hunters. The beauty of the rugged landscapes and the serenity of the mountains spoke to his spirit, and these experiences remain cherished in the memories of those who knew him. Fishing was also a passion of Bob’s whether fishing alone or with his buddies brought great enjoyment to his life.
Bob is survived by his beloved brothers, Dick and Chuck Padgett, and a sister, Laurie Dunkel who remembers him fondly as more than just a sibling but as a companion in both life’s adventures and still moments of quiet camaraderie. Although his parents have predeceased him, their love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the man Bob grew to be.
In celebrating Bob's life, we reflect not only on his career and outdoor pursuits but also on the legacy of kindness and passion he leaves behind. His laughter and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Bob’s wishes for his cremated remains is to be spread on Pryor mountain in Montana.
