Robert "Bob" Vatalaro

Robert (Bob) J. Vatalaro, age 59 of Duluth, passed away on January 27, 2024, surrounded by family at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center. Bob was born and raised in his hometown of Duluth, Minnesota, where he worked for 30 years at the Natural Resources Research Institute (University of Minnesota Duluth). Bob had always been a dedicated outdoorsman, occupying his time hunting and fishing. He had a true love for animals, specifically his duck hunting dog (Maxine). Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love for the outdoors, and being the life of the party, with a laugh and smile that filled the room.

 Bob is preceded in death by his father, Anthony Vatalaro Sr. He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Erickson) Vatalaro; siblings, Tony (Nancy) and Sandy Vatalaro; daughters, Danielle and McKenzie Vatalaro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

 A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00am at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second Street, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 10am. A Celebration of Life will follow at Billy’s Bar at 1:00pm.
