Robert "Bob" L. Welker

Robert L. “Bob” Welker, age 80, of Hancock, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, October 9, 2025 at House of Doves Hospice Home in Marshfield.

He was born June 2, 1945 in Salem, Illinois the son of Robert H. and Imogene V. (Roderick) Welker. He married Pauletta L. Snearly on June 12, 1963.

Robert grew up in Illinois and later moved to Kentucky where he worked as a caretaker of properties and received his formal education in ministry. He pastored the Salem Ridge Wesleyan Church in Kentucky for many years. He and Pauletta moved to Hancock in 2010 to start their retirement.

Bob is survived by his wife, Pauletta L. Welker; his son, Robert D. Welker and daughter, Miriam (Pastor Eric) Hambrock; son-in-law Jonathan (Brenda) Rogers; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Hannah) Hambrock, Eric B. (Michaela) Hambrock, Jonathan (Emily) Hambrock, Emmali (Ren) Schulz, Kayrin Hambrock, Michael Welker and Patrick Chov; numerous great grandchildren; his brother, Terry (Renee’) Welker; and niece, Sarah Renee Welker; further survived by other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Carmen and a nephew, Thaddaeus Welker.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Family and friends may greet the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest in the Hancock Cemetery.
