FARMINGTON – Robert L. “Bob” Williams, Jr., of Farmington, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, March 27, 2026, at his home at the age of 82. He was born in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri on March 30, 1943, to the late Robert L. Williams, Sr. and Thelma Kathleen (Walls) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Williams in 2021; a daughter, Anjanette DeGonia; a granddaughter, Gwendolynn McDaniel; a son-in-law, Randy Gonz; a grandson-in-law, Jay Colclasure and his brother-in-law, Oman Johnson.
Bob grew up in Ste. Genevieve where he attended school and played high school basketball. Not long after high school graduation, he began working in the steel industry. He was employed by Ozarks Steel for 46 years before retiring in 2005.
He enjoyed all sports, especially Nascar and football. In his earlier years, he coached kids softball and umpired boy’s baseball. Bob also loved fishing, watching birds and woodworking. He and his wife, Janet were hosts in State Park campgrounds for a number of years after his retirement and they enjoyed crafting together and selling their crafts at various craft events.
Bob was a wonderful father to his daughters and they will remember him sharing his knowledge with them and always taking time to teach them many practical skills. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him including his daughters, Tracy Gonz, Robin (Steve) Steele and Erica McDaniel; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and his sister, Jean Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m. with Chaplain Brian Jenkerson officiating. View the video tribute and share your condolences and memories at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
