Robert “Bobby” Joseph Archibald, 71, of Westerville, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024. He was born on May 24, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert L. and Josephine (Myers) Archibald. He married Maria M. Moore on June 22, 1974, spending 50 years together.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Maria Archibald, along with his son, Joel (Lesley) Archibald; his daughter, Nicole (Chris Cornetet) Archibald; grandchildren Thurston Archibald and Vera Archibald; siblings, Rebecca (David) Kienzel, Edward (Judy) Archibald, and Alicia Archibald-Laughlin; and many other family members and friends.
Bobby excelled in sports and wrestled for Northland High School and played football for the Akron Zips and the Columbus Wynds. Bobby served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era as a Hospital Corpsman. After his honorable discharge, Bobby worked for Chemlawn and went on to open his own lawncare business, RJA Lawn Maintenance. Bobby loved golfing, fishing, diving, skiing, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
The Archibald family would like to extend a special thanks to the VA, Visiting Angels, Summit Home Care, and Teepa Snow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Visiting Angels www.visitingangelsfoundation.org would be appreciated.
Immediate family will receive friends and family from 3pm to 5pm, Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the Newcomer Funeral, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus 43231. A service to honor Bobby’s life will be held at 11am, Monday, August 12, 2024 also at the funeral home. Mausoleum burial to follow at 1pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
