Robert "Bob" Bogdon

Robert "Bob" Bogdon, age 82, of Carnegie, PA, passed away on October 13, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, Bob was the beloved son of the late Ann and Joseph Bogdon. He was the devoted husband of Danielle Bogdon, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, and the proud father of RJ (Heather) Bogdon and Brandon (Ashley) Bogdon.
A quiet, gentle soul with an unwavering love for his family, Bob's greatest joy came from being a grandfather. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren: Ashton Robert, Alivia Mae, Mila Ann, and Blake Paul. He also leaves behind his dear niece and nephews: Cindy Lang, Christopher Bogdon, and Erik Bogdon.
Bob was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Before being drafted, he had pursued a religious calling, studying to become a priest - a path that spoke to his kind nature and deep faith.
Deeply proud of his Ukrainian heritage, Bob shared its traditions through stories and lullabies, passing down culture and love. He served his community as a firefighter for 10 years and, following his retirement, continued serving others as a Senior Living Community Van Driver for another decade - roles that reflected his steady presence and kind heart.
A loyal companion to many golden retrievers over the years, Bob's love for animals matched his devotion to his family. He never missed a chance to attend his grandchildren's sporting events, always cheering them on with pride.
Bob was a man who rarely raised his voice, never held anger, and lived a life of calm strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy is one of love, patience, and family.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A blessing service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by burial with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
