Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trout Funeral Home of Perry on Nov. 17, 2025.
Bob Bolay said, "That's all there is to it," on Sunday, Nov. 16, after 94 years of life filled with hard work and faith. Bob was the husband to the late Juanita Mae Wagner and father to four children: Mike (Mignon) Bolay, Brent (Gina) Bolay, Kurt (Melinda) Bolay and Brenda (Janet Roorbach) Hulette. Bob was the oldest sibling to his sister Janice Ferda.
Bob wore a hat year-round. His favorite was his Bolay Farms hat. This hat represented what he loved most, family and farming. Bob Bolay's many grandchildren and great-grandchildren reflected the number of acres and livestock he farmed with his sons and grandsons until his passing. His last major purchase of a new tractor for his 92nd birthday was a living testament to his passion and investment of the family farm.
Bob was born and raised in Noble County. He attended High School at St. Gregory's in Shawnee, OK, and was then drafted into the Army. During service, he married Juanita and then began work in the oilfield while farming with his father. He was known in Noble County for tenured board service at First Bank and Trust, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Perry Public Schools, St. Rose of Lima and FHA. Because of his local and statewide service, he was privileged to travel and build many relationships. Bob was a man of his word with a firm handshake. He would often be the first to offer a chain to pull out a stuck neighbor or lend a dollar.
Bob spent most of his semi-retired mornings over a cup of coffee at the Lucien Fire Station. During this time, he socialized, gathered information on the weather, markets and college sports. Bob loved to share everything he learned but will be best remembered for being a wonderful listener. The good Lord gained a trusted and faithful friend that was mighty fine to many.
Bob better known as Grandpa or Papa, leaves behind his grandchildren: Brenette (Michael) Taylor, Macay (Zac) Brummal, Brigitte (Kenny) Ground, Mason (Elise) Bolay, Kathryn (Jay) Staude, Madison (Jordan) Bolay, Karolyn (Trey) Moberly, and Allen Hulette. Also step grandchildren, McCrae, Briley and Kennedy Williams. And great grandchildren; Dalton, Dylan and Micah Taylor, Rhys and Emeri McComas, London Brummal, Everett, Winston and Margot Bolay, Owen and Tate Ground, Jaxon Staude, Isaac, Emma and Andrew Bolay, and Salem Williams.
Sister Janice Ferda, nephew Paul (Megan) and their son Sam Ferda. And many other relatives, friends and extended family.
