Connie Jean Bolay, born on December 28, 1945, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Lee Samuel and Ethel Virginia (Taylor) Littlefield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 16 days.
Connie's education began at Iron Post School and continued through Locust Grove Junior High and Locust Grove High School, where she graduated in 1964. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University in 1994. Over the years, she touched countless lives through her work as a teacher at Briggs, Cookson Hills, and Grandview Elementary. She retired in 2004, having dedicated her final years to the Shady Grove Head Start Center in Hulbert.
On March 11, 1967, Connie married Clinton Bolay in Peggs, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised a son, Sidney. The family lived in Bethany, Oklahoma, before returning to Peggs in 1986. Connie and Clinton shared 39 beautiful years together before his passing on July 14, 2006.
A member of the Peggs Free Will Baptist Church, Connie found joy in many of life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, coloring, quilting, and baking, especially her famous pies. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished time spent with them, especially at the creek. She also enjoyed traveling when she could, and made fond memories with her sister Katie on trips to the casinos, where they delighted in collecting their $10 rewards on senior day.
Connie had a unique love for stuffed animals, particularly those that danced. She was a fan of Elvis Presley-her adoration for him so strong that she even named her beloved dog Elvis. Known for her warmth, kindness, and fun-loving spirit, Connie brought happiness to everyone around her. She will be remembered as a loving, caring woman who radiated joy and had a deep devotion to her family. She will be missed.
Connie is survived by: 1 son: Sidney Bolay and wife Lynn of Edmond, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren: Blake Bolay and wife Devan of Peggs, Oklahoma and Thomas Bolay of Northwest Arkansas; 1 brother: Kenny Littlefield and wife Jennifer of Peggs, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Mickie Garner and Johhny Garner of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister-in-law: Margaret Littlefield of Peggs, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Clinton, her sister Katie Smith, her brother Sammy Littlefield, and her brother-in-law Tommy Smith.
A memorial service to celebrate Connie's life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Peggs Community Church, officiated by Reverend Phil Buford. Cremation services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
