Robert “Bob” Francis Boney, 77, of St. Martin, passed away peacefully and was reunited with the love of his life on December 10, 2024.
Robert was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and a 1967 graduate of St. Martin High School. Robert was a retired Navy Chief and dedicated 33 years of service at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an outside machinist, test, and trials.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the 4th Degree and serving as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, District Deputy, and Membership Director. Robert was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying planes. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting, flying RC planes, and aircraft modeling.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elinor Ruth Boney, his son, William “Billy” Boney, his parents, Francis A. Boney and Ida Fayard Boney and his sisters Gloria and Carol.
He is survived by his brother, James (Merita) Boney; sister, Terri Boney; his children, Christopher (Sondra) Boney and Anna Boney; his grandchildren, Stephen (Christina) Sauls, Matthew Sauls, Hailey (Matthew) Boney Broski, Blake Boney, Alexis Boney, Victoria Lamey, Travis Hilton, and Wyatt Goff; his great-grandchildren, Melody Richard, Adalynn Courtney, Rayce Spicer, Kaycee Broski, Sebastian Sauls, and Aila Sauls; and several nieces, nephews and other close family members.
Robert was a devoted parishioner of St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
