I met Bob in 1973 when I began an apprenticeship at Garfield Gunsmithing. He quickly became a mentor and a good friend. We shared countless fun hunting and fishing trips together and many social events with Lauren and various girls that I was dating in those days.
Bob set the model for a life well lived. He was good at everything he set his mind to, he was a loyal and loving family man and impossible not to like. He was probably the kindest person I ever knew.

I meant Mr. Bork at Riley and Jake 's in Clinton many years ago with his lovely wife. We had many conversations about Irvington, my home town. He was full of knowledge about many topics. A kind man. Looking like Santa. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to the family. Linda Breitkopf

Lauren, Jon and Larry,
I am so sorry and saddened
By Bob´s sudden passing.
I pray for our Lord Jesus Christ arms of comfort and peace in each of you and your families during this time.
I was honored to work with Sgt. Bork (Bob) when I became an Officer in 1986 with the Marine Police. I was stationed with Bob at Lake Hopatcong and spend many long days with him on patrol on every lake in Central and Northern NJ ( many times after when I was suppose to be off duty- he had the truck keys)! Bob made me enjoy the job with watching and learning how to do the job correctly and learning how to stay under the radar from our superiors. My Dad Bob "Gubbie" Gubitosi worked with you Lauren and Bob at Annandale Jail and he would tell me what great people you were when I first worked with the State.
I transfer to the State Rangers in 1988 and soon would be able to work with my dear friend and mentor Bob. Always with a jug of ice tea and I learned to love pretzels and mustard too.
In life you rarely have a chance to work and stand in the shadow of honest man who loved his family and enjoyed life that God had blessed him with (with its hardships and joys) as purely and honestly as Bob did.
Lauren, May God bless you and keep you in these days ahead.

I had the Pleasure to Serve Under "Bobby's" leadership of the "Northern Tactical Unit" of the NJSP Marine Law Enforcement Division.
He was an "EXTRAORDINARY "

" HIS " deployment of service in the MLEB.

I drove past this lovely human every morning and afternoon for the past 11 years. He was a staple and bright light in my day. I am devastated to learn of this horrible tragedy. It sounds like a lived a beautiful life full of love and service. His honorable presence will be greatly missed. Prayers and space in my heart for the family but especially his wife.
