Robert Bowen Obituary

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Above all, Bob was a devoted Christian. Bob's love for the Lord shone through in every aspect of his life. Bob taught Sunday school for over 40 years, finding great joy in sharing prayer, scripture, and his faith with others. Bob was also a lifelong learner and researcher. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, restoring old cars, and collecting items which he found interesting.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents and brother, Billy Bowen. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bowen; four children, Bobby Bowen (Linda), Stephanie Bowen, Clay Osborne (Sarah) and Jenna Isaacs (Rob); brothers Buck (Judy) and Ronnie Bowen; and eight grandchildren. Bob's legacy will live on through his loving family, especially through the happy memories he created with his grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Stephenson Chapel of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama at 10:00 am, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Mr. Bob was such a kind man. He briefly taught our adult Sunday School class at FBC in Decatur. He always went out of his way to speak to my husband and me. He showed interest in our lives and asked how we were doing, how our kids were doing, and always asked us about our car wash business "up in Jackson, TN." He would tell us about his job and how he´d been to Jackson many times. Mr. Bob truly cared about people- and it showed. Our sincerest condolences to your family for your profound loss.
