Robert “Bob” Carl Brauer, of Ham Lake, MN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the age 83.
Born July 6, 1941, in La Crosse, WI, to Albert & Erna; Bob was the youngest of 4. He was a proud graduate of Central High School (La Crosse, WI). Following graduation, Bob worked at La Crosse Auto Parts in billing for four years before proudly enlisting in the U.S. Air Force for four years (1963-1967). Post military service, he attended Control Data Technical Institute (Minneapolis, MN) to be a computer programmer. Bob was a dedicated computer programmer for Honeywell for most of his working years.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Bob greatly enjoyed traveling with Grace. He helped organize a monthly praise group, often holding meetings in his home. Bob was a Christian singer-songwriter and was always involved with music. He continued to play his guitar and most recently was involved with the Memory Lane Singers. Bob enjoyed the last several years, wintering in Fort Myers, FL with his wife, Grace. In his free time at home, he enjoyed tending to his lawn and flower gardens, spending time with family and friends, including his beloved furry family member, Nova.
I would be remiss not to mention Bob’s countless years of service as worship leader at Way of the Cross (known now, as Way of the Lord). There’s no doubt he entered the gates of heaven, with singing and rejoicing! …Well done good and faithful servant…Matthew 25:21
Bob is survived by his loving wife Grace; children, Angie (Greg) Bellanger, Stephen (Amanda) Brauer; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Brianna, Cooper, Logan, along with many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Margaret, and brothers; Albert and Bill.
The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, October 25, 2024 (with a greeting 10:00-11:00am) at Bridgewood Community Church, 11670 Lexington Ave NE, Blaine.
