In Loving Memory of Robert J. Braun
October 9, 1951 – May 6, 2025
With deep sorrow and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Robert James Braun, who departed this life peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 73. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Robert's presence was a constant source of strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom to all who knew him.
Born on October 9, 1951, in the family home in Wilton, Connecticut, Robert was the son of Edward and Mary Braun. From his earliest years, he carried a strong work ethic and a love for the open road that would define his life and career. For over five decades, Robert proudly worked as a semi-truck driver. His work was more than a job-it was a calling, and he took immense pride in it. He found peace behind the wheel and joy in the long highways, forging a life of dedication, perseverance, and purpose. Among his greatest joys was passing along this passion to his son, whom he taught not just the skills of trucking, but the deeper values of commitment, responsibility, and integrity that came with the profession.
When he wasn't on the road, Robert embraced the comfort and love of home life. He had a natural talent for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing homemade meals for family and friends. Cooking was his way of showing love, and many will fondly remember the warmth of his kitchen and the simple happiness of sharing food around his table.
Robert was deeply devoted to his family. He was a steady, guiding presence-dependable, kind-hearted, and always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear. His grandchildren, Sophia and Christian, held a very special place in his heart. He delighted in their laughter and milestones, and his pride in them was immeasurable.
He was more than a provider; he was a teacher, a protector, and a friend. He lived his life with humility, grace, and compassion, touching countless lives through quiet acts of kindness and unwavering loyalty. To his children, he was both a father and a role model. To his friends, he was a confidant. To all, he was an inspiration.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Braun, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life. He leaves behind his loving wife, Tammy Braun, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He is also survived by his brother Edward, sister Carolyn, and his children: Christopher, Justin, Joey, Donnie, Jesse, and AnnMarie. He will be deeply missed by many extended family members, including his cherished cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Most of all, Robert's legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he passed down, and the love he gave so generously.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at a public visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:30 p.m., and for those unable to attend in person, the service will also be available to join online.
Robert J. Braun may have reached the end of his road here on Earth, but the journey he began in the hearts of those who loved him will carry on forever.
