Robert (Bob) A. Briggs passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on February 16, 2026. He was born on Feb. 4, 1946, the son of Robert E. & Kathryn M. (Guerrero) Briggs in Philadelphia, PA. Due to his father's service in the US Navy the family moved to Maine in 1950. First to Seawall, than to Corea, Maine. After his father's discharge the family lived in Gouldsboro and then Dexter, Maine. Bob graduated from Dexter High School in 1965. He first attended Aroostook State College, before attending and then graduating from Farmington State in 1969. While attending Farmington Bob was initiated into Gamma Theta Upsilon the national Professional Geographis Honor Society.

While he was student teaching Bob was hired to teach 4th Grade in Clinton (MSAD#49). While teaching there he continued to take courses at Farmington and received his MSEd degree in 1972. He later taught at Canaan Christian after he received the Lord as His Saviour. Further study took him to New Brunswick Bible Institute. After graduation he settled in the Bucksport area and worked at Downeast Graphics in Ellsworth and then taught printing at the Region #4 Vocational School in Bangor and later taught at the Evangel Baptist Academy now Bucksport Christian School and Evangel Bible Training Institute. He also owned the Sunshine Laundry and Evangel Printers in Bucksport.

He served his Church in Bucksport as Deacon, Elder, and Clerk, and the towns he lived in on the Benton Planning Board and on the Bucksport Economic Development, Micro-Loan, and Cemetery Committees.

He leaves his wife of 46 years Jilleen (Jill) Powers and Children: Bethany Glen and her wife Kelly Briggs-Hayler of NYC, BeckyLee Briggs, and Jennifer and her husband Fred Meserve, and grandchildren Kenzi, Eddie, and Emersyn Meserve, all of Bucksport.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Bucksport Christian School (BucksportChristian.org).
