Robert (Bob) Lee Bromm, Sr., 89, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died May 5, 2025, at home surrounded by beloved family. Mr. Bromm was born November 20, 1935, in St. Anthony, Indiana, the son of Henry Bromm and Rose (Spellmeier) Bromm-Bosler. On November 20, 1954, he married Patricia M. Ehrsam at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana. Bob worked at Atz Hatchery in Huntingburg and sold Knapp Shoes for 28 years. He retired from Kelly & Wilmore Construction as General Superintendent of Indiana after 43 years of service. After retiring, he worked as a greeter at Walmart in Scottsburg for several years. Mr. Bromm was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association and Clark County Civil Defense. He was a charter member of the Scott County Archery Club, Scott County Optimist Club, St. Anthony Conservation Club and Knights of Columbus Council 8052. He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church of Scottsburg, where he served as Eucharistic Minister for the Sick, Sacristan Minister for Daily Masses and on the Funeral Committee. Bob was an avid hunter, and he held the world record for nontypical whitetail deer harvested with a black powder muzzle-loader from 1987 to 1998. He also enjoyed the outdoors, farming, gardening, flowers, and his old truck and tractor. Bob never knew a stranger. You were a friend or a friend he hadn't met yet. He always greeted you with a warm smile, a hug and a dance. His family and friends will greatly miss his laugh, storytelling, generosity and positive outlook. Mr. Bromm is survived by his wife Patricia M. Bromm of Scottsburg, and sister Carol Sue Uppencamp of Huntingburg; two daughters, Debora A. Young (Skip) of Scottsburg and Rebecca L. Justus (Kim) of Lexington, Indiana; two sons, Robert L. Bromm Jr. (Maria) of Scottsburg and David H. Bromm (Theresia) of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clemens Bromm, Basil Bromm and Louis Bromm; son Jack Bromm; daughter Jackie Bromm; and son-in-law Robert Kirk Young. Bob is also survived by six grandchildren, Amber Hill (Jason), Jacob Justus (Stephanie), Meghan Snyder (Derrick), Andrew Bromm (Amanda), Justin Bromm, Isaiah Bromm (Kloe); three great-grandchildren, Jordan Meadows (Pamela), and Raygan and Kennedy Justus; several step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
