Jacob Matthew Bromm

Jacob Matthew Bromm was born March 4, 2000, at St. John Hospital in Warren, Michigan. He passed away on January 9, 2019, at the age of 18 in Manhattan, New York. Jacob was finally located on a website of unidentified persons by his mother.
His first ten years of life, he resided in Madison Heights; then, he lived in Troy. He graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic School and was a 2018 graduate of Bishop Foley Catholic High School.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Clifford and Jacqueline (née Hancock) Bromm; sister, Katherine Bromm; grandmother Deborah Hancock, godmother, Nancy Eddy; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Dudley Bromm. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frederick and Cleo (née Dei) Bromm, Ray and Mitzi (née Fletcher) McDonald, and John Hancock; and godfather, Dennis Eddy.
Jacob participated in numerous CYO sports at GA: football, basketball, lacrosse, and track. Activities included band/drums, choir, altar boy for funerals, Lego robotics, cub and boy scouts, Madison Heights Wolverine football, city baseball, Madison Rams, and Warren Mott youth wrestling club. While at Foley, Jacob participated in cross country, track, and robotics. He was majoring in business at Bowling Green State University.
He enjoyed reading business and self-help books and learning how to be successful. He appreciated nice clothes, going to the movies, driving his Pontiac Vibe, and his dog, Dudley, whom he rescued after volunteering at the animal shelter for Foley. His favorite meal was a steak dinner.
He adored and looked up to his big sister Katie; they never quarreled. He was maturing into a fine young man.
The family would like to thank all the religious clergy, teachers, coaches and parents who mentored him along his faith life journey. Thank you to all the people who have prayed and looked for Jacob. He is loved and missed more than words can ever be expressed.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, Clawson, Michigan 48017.
A 10:00 AM Mass will take place at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 581 East Fourteen Mile Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017, with Jacob lying in state at 9:30 AM. The Mass will be livestreamed on the Guardian Angels Catholic Church Facebook page.
Burial at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan will follow Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are suggested to the Animal Welfare Society in Madison Heights.
