Robert C. “Charlie” Brown, 78, of Bradgate, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

He was born August 26, 1944 in Fort Dodge, the son of Roy and Mildred (Gronbach) Brown.  He grew up on a farm outside of Livermore and graduated from Bode-Twin Rivers High School in 1964.  In July of 1984, Charlie was united in marriage to Elaine A. DeBoer, the couple made their home in Bradgate.  He was employed with PRO Cooperative in Bradgate and later the Gilmore City Elevator, retiring in 2006.  Charlie was a farmer by nature and farmed land between Bode and Livermore.  He served on the Bradgate Fire Department, liked to show off his tractors in area parades, enjoyed trips to Colorado but mostly loved his family and times with the grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Elaine of Bradgate, daughter Lisa (Brian) Nelson of Dakota City and Doug Buss of Bradgate, five grandchildren Amanda Stump, Kayley Weeks, Rachel Buss, Jessica Eveland and Jonathan Nelson, six great-grandchildren and his brother Tom Brown of Livermore and his six children.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Peter, daughter Heidi, brother Jerry and grandsons Alexander & Matias.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt with the Reverend Aaron Flatau, officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place later at Union Cemetery, Livermore.   www.masonlindhart.com
