Robert Lee Budro

1936 - 2022

Surrounded by his family, Robert Lee Budro finished his chores and Jesus called him home. At 12:43 am on November 17, 2022, daddy took his last breath in a broken and battered body. He is now dancing in the streets of heaven. He was 86 years old.

He was born on July 17, 1936 in Liberty Texas to Albert Earl and Marie Budro. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Linda Lee Budro; son William "Billy" Budro; daughter-in-law Sandra Budro; grandson Micah Alewine; sisters Earla Marie, Macie Attrice, Reba Mae, Helen Louise, Ruby Joyce and Mary Ann and brothers David Clinton "Buster"; Troy Eugene, and Roger Dale.

In 1953 he joined the Marine Corps where he served his country in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged in 1957, he returned to Conroe where he met Linda Lee Gilmore. They were married on April 22, 1959 and went on to raise five strong and fiercely independent children.

In his younger years, Robert lived in Houston working in construction until he moved his family to Conroe in 1973. From the 70's through the 90's he worked for Sante Fe, Brown and Root, and various oil companies where he worked in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. In later years'he worked for Woodforest National Bank as an interim construction inspector. Most recently, he enjoyed working as a gate guard for the oil and gas industry.

He is survived by his children, Sherie Budro, Karen Pichotta and husband Larry, Laurie Budro, Keith Budro and Dustin Traver; siblings Albert Earl "Blue", Clinton Ray, Sandra Fay, and Barbara Ellen; grandchildren Mitchell Keith Alewine, Miranda Cline, Mark Shores, Matthew Markert and Jessica Stickler, Luke Pichotta, Bradley Anderson and wife Stormy, Brittany Huckins and husband Louis, Amanda Budro, Shane Budro and wife Taylor, Josh Budro and wife Kayla, Brandon Budro and numerous great grandchildren.

Others who survive him are his very special cousins Darrel Budro, Patsy Budro Hammock, Brenda Budro Ford, and Ellis Budro (deceased).

Serving as pallbearers are Mark Shores, Matthew Markert, Shane Budro, Bradley Anderson, Louis Huckins and Trenten McMichael

Honorary bearers are Connor Shores, Christopher "Bubby" Shores, Gabriel Davis, Ryder Huckins, and Bryson Budro.

Visitation with family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm, Sunday November 20th at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 am, Monday, November 21st, also at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Conroe Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis.
