It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” Burleigh, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left this world on December 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 18, 1943, Bobby was a lifelong resident of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, where he cultivated a deep love for the land and its traditions.
Bobby dedicated his life to the art of training cutting horses and raising cattle. He shared his passion for training with his daughter, Tina, and enjoyed attending horse shows to watch her compete. His commitment to his farm and the animals he cherished reflected his strong work ethic and genuine care for the world he inhabited. Beyond his agricultural pursuits, Bobby had a fervent enthusiasm for sports, particularly basketball and softball which he shared with his three girls. Teaching them how to play the games he loved and watching them excel brought him great pride. An avid hunter, he found solace in the fields and woods, pursuing deer and ducks and engaging in the exhilarating challenge of trapping wild hogs.
Above all, Bobby was a devoted family man, cherished by his beloved wife, Dorothy Burleigh. Their bond served as a testament to the power of love and companionship, built over years of shared experiences and unwavering support. Bobby’s warmth, kindness, and steadfast spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing until the time of services him. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Deville Burleigh; daughters, Tina Ann King (Greg), Tammie Ann Denofrio (Phil), and Tiffany Ann Burleigh; grandchildren, John Lee Austin King (Tori), MaKenna Sierra Denofrio, and Philip Trace Denofrio; great-granddaughters, Emma Grace King and Carrol Ann King; and sisters, Carol Faye Soileau (Chester) and Loretta Hill.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents,; sister, Beatrice Landry; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Hill and Bill Landry.
