Robert Craig Carlisle

Robert "Bobby" Carlisle, 68, of Gold Hill, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Born on September 15, 1957, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Bobby was the son of the late Paul Carlisle and Elizabeth Tyson Carlisle. He worked for Wagners Construction for many years before going out on disability.

Bobby found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved his fur babies, spending time antique shopping, and working on lawn mowers and tractors. He took pride in caring for his yard and enjoyed staying busy with his hands. Most of all, Bobby loved his wife, Susan, and the Lord. His faith was central to his life, and he cherished attending church and participating in church activities.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Misenheimer, Lynn Starnes, and Katy Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Carlisle; his son, Nicholas Carlisle and Trina Raby; his daughters, Shannon Warden and husband Brian, Elizabeth Fourie and husband Alex; and his son-in-law, Daniel Kesler. He was a proud grandfather to Craig Carlisle, Nolan and Greyson Warden, Palmer Fourie, and Raylee Kesler. Bobby is also survived his brother Mike Carlisle and wife Glenda; He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Old Country Baptist Church, 627 Faith Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Maurice Eagle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Country Baptist Church, Trellis Supportive Care, or the Rowan County Animal Shelter.
