Robert Case Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 11, 2023.
A service to celebrate the life of Rev. Robert D. Case is scheduled at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Hope Lutheran Church with a viewing one hour prior to the service. He died on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Please see the service broadcasting schedule, floral purchasing, and an area to share stories of Rev. Case with his family here on this page.
Robert Dick Case was born January 4, 1932, to Richard T. and Vera (Peyton) Case in Missouri Valley, IA. He married Mary Dailey on July 10, 1954.
Robert lost his hearing at a young age from spinal meningitis. He attended Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa. While working for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, he married and went on to have 5 children. During this time, Robert felt a calling to be a minister. He pursued his dream by attending and receiving degrees from Concordia University, Memphis State University, and Concordia Seminary where he graduated with a master's degree. He served in multiple churches in Milwaukee, Memphis, St. Louis, Houston, Los Angeles, Omaha, and Dallas.
Robert never allowed his deafness to prevent him from his dream. He was passionate about God, family, and continuing to reach those who have not heard the Gospel message.
Rev. Case is survived by his wife, Mary Dailey Case; daughter, Kathleen (Robert, Jr.) Meyer; son, Ritchie T. (Elizabeth) Case; son, Roger Case; grandchildren, Graham (Marilyn) Case, Michael (Amelia) Case, Melissa Meyer, Robert Meyer, III, Christina (Eric) Vesel, Catherine (Andrew) Kosloske, and Jeffrey (Erin) Feldhusen, Shawn Case, Shannon Case, Elizabeth Case, and Max Case; fourteen great–grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Lynn) Case.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Vera Case; daughter, Cynthia Case; son, Jimmy D. Case; and grandchild, Christian Meyer.
