Memorial services for Gary Don Case will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Alva, Oklahoma with Pastor Jason Dirks officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Gary Don, son of the late Frank Wilson and Ella Mae (Coulter) Case, was born September 2, 1944, at Cherokee and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family July 11, 2025, at his home in Alva, at the age of 80.
Gary was raised in Waynoka, Oklahoma, alongside his brothers by their loving parents. He played basketball and football as a Railroader at Waynoka High School, graduating with the Class of 1962. After graduation, Gary enlisted in the United States Army in 1963. He was stationed in Germany and proudly served as Military Police until his honorable discharge in 1966 at the rank of Sergeant.
Following his military service, Gary moved to Oklahoma City, where he helped his brother, Dale, build homes. He also worked at Sheplers, where he once had the opportunity to fit Cher for a pair of leather chaps. Later, he served as a police officer in Oklahoma City and even stood guard outside Elvis Presley's dressing room during a concert while on duty.
Gary eventually moved to Alva to be closer to his parents. His mother, Ella Mae, introduced him to Barbara Jean Howe, their neighbor. On March 22, 1978, Gary and Barbara were united in marriage. They made their home in Alva, where they raised their family and have lived for over 40 years.
After moving to Alva he began working at Panhandle Eastern as a maintenance fieldman until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Gary had many hobbies throughout the years, including raising Arabian horses, building and selling wooden furniture, fishing, watching Brandon play sports throughout school, cheering for OU football, basketball, and softball, watching his grandkids in their activities, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella Mae; his brother, Dale Case and Dales's wife, Jan; and his brother, Larry Case.
Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, of Alva; his sons, Brandon Case and wife, Whittney, of Woodward, and Mark Kilbourne and wife, Shari, of Enid; seven grandchildren, Shelby Booth and husband, Austin, of Okeene, Morgan Webb and husband, Jarett, of Waukomis, Ashlynn Kilbourne and husband, Brandon Roadenbaugh, of Alva, Abbey McMullen-Long and husband Christian, of Enid, Kianna Case of Woodward, Karston Kilbourne of Enid, and Adlyn Case of Woodward; nine great grandchildren, Blaetyn, Briar, Brynley, Asher, Adley, Baylor, Brady, River, and Jack; a sister-in-law, Deana Case of Edmond; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Marshall Funeral Home.
