Robert Walter Cassady

Robert Walter Cassady, born November 21, 1938, age 84, of Farmington NM, passed away in his sleep on November 10, 2023, in Farmington, NM. Bob was born in Winslow and dedicated 40 years of his life to working for the El Paso Natural Gas company. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee who made a significant impact during his tenure.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lola Cassady, his brother Harold Cassady, and a great-grandson, Andrew Lillywhite. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Bob was a beloved husband of 65 years to Carolyn Ramsay Cassady. Together, they built a beautiful life and cherished their time together. Bob was also a loving father to Brent (Kathy) Cassady, Lerlyn (Ross) Lillywhite, Leane (Chris) Cassady, Ryan Cassady, and Lanae (Jay) McDorman. He was a proud grandfather to Kirt (Emily) Lillywhite, Ben Cassady, Jon (Michelle) Lillywhite, Brett (Savannah) Lillywhite, Julie (Jordan) Magnum, Kara (Mike) Brown, Carol (Brian) Rhees, Cassady (Chris) Ransom, Janae Lillywhite, Samuel Cassady, and William Cassady. Bob's legacy continues through his 15 great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his sisters Norma Liebert, Lois Wilson, Valerie (Phil) Hansen, and brother Harry (Pat) Cassady.
In addition to his successful career, Bob was actively involved in his community. He served on the school board for Bloomfield schools for multiple years and played an integral role in the establishment of soccer in Bloomfield. Bob's commitment to youth extended to his involvement with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he worked with young men and taught religion classes.
A ceremony to celebrate Bob's life will be held on November 18th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints church house in Bloomfield, 902 W Blanco Blvd, Bloomfield, NM 87413 at 10:00 a.m. We invite all who knew and loved Bob to join us in honoring his memory.
