Robert "Bob" Wayne Castle, Jr., 76, 32-year dedicated law enforcement officer and Air Force Veteran passed away on July 12, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on September 12, 1948, the son of the late Robert W. Castle, Sr., and Mary (Vanscoy) Castle. Bob attended local schools and was a 1966 graduate of Granby Memorial High School.

Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his county during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972.

Bob served the Granby Police Department with honor, integrity, and compassion for 32 years, retiring as a Sergeant and leaving a legacy of service and commitment.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Annabelle Rose Castle of Granby, CT, his brother, Ronald W. Castle and his wife Sherry of Flagler Beach, FL, his sister Audrey Borgstedt and her husband Kevin of Irmo, SC, his nephews Zachery Borgstedt of Irmo, SC and Lucas Borgstedt of Berlin, CT.

The family would like to thank Debbie Mele for her daily visits and dedication during the six weeks that Bob was in the hospital.

Bob's family will receive friends on Sunday October 12, 2025, from 2-4PM at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 4PM. Bob will be laid to rest with full military honors on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at 10AM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. To a 60+ year friend and fellow classmate. Just lived up th street on Salmon Brook St.Took him to the Train Station in Hartford when he enlisted in the Air Force. He bought my Dad's Barn converted to a home on Notch Rd where he lived till he passed. He was a treasured officer loved by all and did Granby Proud,
He will be missed.
