Robert Martinez Castro, 71, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1954, in Austin, Texas, to Desiderio and Petra Castro, who raised him with strong values and a deep love for family.
Robert was a hardworking man who made his living with his hands—as a handyman and house framer—and found joy in building and fixing things. In his free time, he loved woodworking and restoring old furniture, always taking pride in bringing new life to worn and well-loved pieces.
But above all, Robert will be remembered for his story telling and the way he filled every gathering with laughter. He had a way of turning everyday moments into stories that had everyone smiling or doubled over laughing. His quick wit and warm presence brought joy wherever he went, and his family will forever treasure those memories.
Robert’s proudest accomplishments weren’t found in his work, but in the lives of his sons—his greatest joy and legacy. He was deeply proud of every accomplishment they achieved, big or small, and carried their successes in his heart with pride.
He is survived by his sister Maria E. Castro, and half-siblings Adam Castro, Rosa Kiddy, Cecilia Castro Medina, Alice Castro, and Eva Castro; sons Robert Desi Castro, Christopher Lee Castro, Joel Castro, and Randall Castro. Robert leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who brought him endless happiness.
Robert’s life was full of hard work, laughter, and love. His presence will be missed, but the joy he brought to his family will continue to shine through them.
