Robert Leon Champlain, 70 years of age, from Chelsea, OK died November 16th, 2023, in the home of his son in Drumright, OK following his battle with cancer.
Robert was born in Tulsa, OK on November 27th, 1952, on Thanksgiving Day, to Robert Champlain and Shirley Johnson. Robert attended High School in Hulbert, OK until he enlisted and served in the Navy in 1972. After leaving the service Robert met Roy Blankenship at their place of work, when Roy brought Robert to his home, where he met and then married the love of his life Rebecca on August 31st, 1974.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Johnson and his father Robert Champlain.
Robert leaves behind his Siblings: Doyle Champlain of Sapulpa, OK, Charlie and Sue Champlain of Tahlequah, OK, and Sharon and Miles Gifford of Hulbert, OK. His wife of 49 years Rebecca Champlain and his Children: Michael Champlain, Robert Bradley Champlain, and Jeffery and Julie Champlain, of Drumright, OK. His grandchildren: Ashley DeLong, Bobby Champlain, Derrian Champlain, Caleb Champlain, Robert Champlain, Jacob Champlain, Danielle Champlain, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Robert loved sitting on his porch bird watching, especially his hummingbirds, tending his flower beds, decorating his yard, and fishing. Robert was a top Salesman at Schwan's and a business owner. He was renowned for his "Bob" sandwiches. He did so much for others, especially those in need. He offered food, gas, or any help he could, while allowing them to pay him later. Robert was a devoted husband who spent his last years caring for his beloved wife while she battled cancer. He showed his love to others through his actions and by doing for others. He was always kind and generous with his time and his help.
