Robert (Bob) Emery Chevalier, age 96 of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Duluth, Minnesota passed away March 6, 2025.
Bob was born June 9, 1928 to Napoleon Chevalier and Florence Nelson.
In 1950 he married his wife, MaryAnne Szymczak in Duluth, Minnesota.
He is survived by his daughters Sandra (Howard "Buzz") Haviland, Dawnie Chevalier, Janet Vialpando, a son Robert (Annette) Chevalier II, and a brother Terry (Frana) Chevalier. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren (Scott, Annette, Jennifer, Julie, Holly, Trinity and Brandon), 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife MaryAnne, parents Napoleon and Florence (Ed) Vachon, sisters Marion Gould and Dorothy Hughes Rathbun.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 28 years. His army career took him to Japan, Germany and various states in the U.S, as well as service in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from Ft. Carson, Colorado, they made their final home in Colorado Springs.
Bob enjoyed barbershop quartet singing and was a member of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. He founded the Rocky Mountain Mets Club and drove one of his Metropolitan cars up Pikes Peak and in local parades.
His veteran's organization memberships included the American Legion, the DAV and Past Commander of VFW Post 4051.
He was a long time member of Roswell Community Church in Colorado Springs.
He and MaryAnne loved to camp and travel, and spent many years taking summer trips to Alaska. They traveled to all but one state in the United States.
He will be greatly missed. He requested no funeral services. Family chose he be interred at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
