Robert Joseph Ciarelli, age 69 of Orion, died June 6, 2025.
Son of the late Pat and Bernice (DeClercq) Ciarelli, Robert was born and raised in Michigan, he spent much of his life in the state he called home. He served in the United States Marine corps and later built a career in engineering, traveling often for both work and military service. Outside of his profession he had a deep connection to baseball and softball.
From his early years playing the game to decades spent coaching in the community, he remained dedicated to the sport throughout much of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patty Ciarelli and their 4 children, Dan, Kit, Carrie and Billy. He is also remembered by a large extended family, including his siblings Gary (Joan), Ken (Diane), Deborah, Michael (Kristen), Jacqueline, Tom (Susan), Jim (Traci) and Cheryl (David) Balash; brother-in-law of Rick (Cheryl), Debbie, Peggy (Ellie), Brenda, Darlene (Jim), Bernadine, Randy, Ron and Diane; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by in-laws Dick and Marguerite Boyce.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday June 16, 2025 – 11 a.m. with in-state at 10 a.m. at St Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd., Orion.
There will also be a viewing on Thursday, June 12, 2025 – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion.
All who wish to attend and remember his Life are welcome.
