Mr. Cimbalo taught at Roscoe Conkling School, and was one of my favorites. He was truly unique. His creativity and kindness will never be forgotten.

I met Bob Cimbalo 1954 when he was a Proctor High senior and I a lowly junior high 7th grader scared to death of entering such a big school. His locker was in the same row as mine and he quickly took me under his wing and acted as my "big brother" and protecter. We called each other "curly" because we both had short crew cuts. I was proud to point him to my classmates as my friend. Bob was a football hero playing center for Proctor as well as a budding artist. I followed his long and distinguished art career and renewed our acquaintance some 15 years ago when he exhibited his fine artwork at the National Italian American Foundation meeting and dinner in Washington, DC. He was the same old friendly Bob I met in Proctor some 70 years ago.
God Bless this good man, and his family
Sincerely, Richard Benedetto

Way back when I met Bob at MWPI. Just today as I was going through some archived emails, there was one from Bob about a mutual friend with his website address. I searched but, it was no longer online. Another search brought up this obit. So very sorry to read that his services will take place this weekend. We had lost touch when I moved out of the US. I do still have his woodcut collaboration he sent me about East Utica. My sincere condolences to his family .

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Cimbalo....my neighbor, teacher at Conkling school and professor at Utica College. Always a light in this community. I was so excited for you when you were honored for your service at a Utica comet's game a few years back..."my teacher". Keep creating with our Creator!

It is time for you to rest in peace. Plus like most of us, you have had your share of ups and downs. Now, having lived to be your age, it will be UP's from here on. RIP Bob.

Mr Cimbolo was everyone´s favorite teacher at Conkling School-- he always wore his beret even in class- he was a very unique individual.
