Robert (Bob) Whitlow Clark Jr., a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1944, in South Boston, Virginia, to Robert Whitlow Clark Sr. and Beatrice Mahaffey Clark. Bob's life spanned an impressive 80 years, filled with love, commitment, and a deep sense of service to his family and community.
Bob was a proud and dedicated Navy Captain, who exemplified leadership and integrity throughout his military career. After retiring from the Navy, he transitioned to civilian life as a Computer Technician at Georgia Power Southern Company and previously worked as an Accountant at Good Year Tire and Rubber. He held a bachelor's degree, which laid the foundation for his successful career and reflected his lifelong commitment to education.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was a devoted family man, survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Diane Terrell Clark and three beloved children and their spouses: daughters and sons-in-law Amy and Dean Herman and Abby and Gene Lee, and son and daughter-in-law Robert and Candi Clark. He was a proud grandfather to Cayci Schell, Nathan Lee, Avery Clark, Ansley Clark, and Ryan Clark, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Tom and Barry Clark, and he leaves behind a large and loving family that includes his brothers and sisters-in-law Zane and Lulu Clark, Ralph and Edith Clark, Stanley and Dianne Clark, Doc and Judith Clark, David and Billie Clark, and Aubrey and Donna Clark, as well as brother Willie Jones. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Sybil and Doug Blanks, Cindi and David Owens, and many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
His community involvement was vast and impactful. As a devoted member of his church, Bob sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and served as a counselor for the Church Youth Department. He was also a committed Boy Scout Leader, imparting wisdom and values to countless youth over the years.
Bob's passions extended beyond his service to family and community; he had a profound love for sports, particularly baseball, softball, and soccer. These interests not only brought him joy but also bonded him with family and friends, creating lasting memories.
A memorial service in honor of Bob will be held at Covington First United Methodist Church on Saturday March 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Friday March 28, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society and The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Condolences may be submitted online at www.scotward.com. Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, GA 30012, 770-483-7216.

I´ve known Bob for quite a while as a wonderful example of Christian love. He was our Sunday School teacher for many years and kept us focused on Christ through Bible studies. He also had remarkable insight and wit that kept us engaged. He readily volunteered for many needed positions at Conyers First Methodist. In addition to everything else he was also my go to computer technician and got me out of numerous problems. I´ll miss him greatly.

Bobby was a remarkable man who came from a large family in South Boston, Va. He was a great man and I am grateful to have known him for many years as I was his brother in law. He will be missed and respected by many people!!! So sorry for his loss but he is in a better place now and his memory will always be remembered.
