Robert Allen "Bobby" Clark passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

A resident of Marshfield for the past 32 years, Bobby was born on October 12, 1949, and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Harriet (Willard) Clark, his brother Norman, and his sisters Dorothy and Beverly. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Janet (Black) Clark; his loving children, Paul Clark and Jill (Clark) Lawler; and his three cherished grandchildren, Camryn Lawler, Brayden Lawler, and Cooper Clark.

From an early age, Bobby had a deep love of music. He played trumpet in his high school band and was one of the youngest members of the Waltham American Legion Band. His passion for performance continued into adulthood as a member of the rock band Joy, playing gigs at local venues such as The Surf Nantasket in Hull. In later years, he performed in local theater productions.

After attending broadcasting school, Bobby began his career as a disc jockey at WGIR in Manchester, NH. His natural charisma and voice led him into radio advertising sales, which eventually inspired a long and successful sales career in the alcoholic beverage industry, ending with his retirement from United Liquors.

Bobby spent many childhood summers in Eastport, Maine and at YMCA Camp Belknap on Lake Winnipesaukee. As a young man, Bobby was actively involved in church youth groups and joined DeMolay, a youth leadership organization. He later became a Master Mason and a Shriner, dedicating his time to volunteering at Shriners Children's Hospital in Boston, a cause close to his heart.

A devoted husband and father, Bobby was proud of raising his family at a young age. Family was always at the center of his world, and he took great joy in every gathering, especially sporting events, sleepovers, and movie marathons with his grandchildren.

He was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan, calling himself a "Celtics nut." He loved playing cribbage, listening to all kinds of music from jazz to opera, and traveling with Janet to see live performances and explore historic cities including New York, San Francisco, London, and Rome. A lifelong history buff and voracious reader, Bobby had an incredible memory and a gift for storytelling. Many agreed he missed his calling as a history teacher.

Bobby found peace and purpose in nature. From his first garden in Randolph to the hundreds of trees and shrubs he planted in Marshfield, his love of landscaping left a living legacy that will continue to bring beauty for generations. In retirement, he loved living by the water with an ocean view, enjoying sunrises and boats going by.

Bobby was a big personality and had many friends. He was the life of every gathering, always making people laugh. One of his favorite sayings was "Better to be lucky than good," and he considered himself to be very lucky to have such a beautiful family.

Bobby made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His laughter, wisdom, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield. Friends and family are invited to gather for visiting hours at 10:00 a.m. and concluding with a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to The Shriner's Children's Hospital, online at: Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the YMCA Camp Belnap, online at YMCA Camp Belnap

Hi mate!

You hadn´t been moved in long when one of the neighbors was having some trees cut down. You asked if we should grab a couple of chairs, a couple of drinks, and watch the trees come down - so we did.

When I think about that day, I´m reminded that it´s the simple things in life that count. Thank you for that afternoon. Every time I see some tree work happening, I´ll take a moment to enjoy it - and I hope you will too.
