Robert E. Coleman, age 69, of Milton, DE, passed away on April 2, 2025, after facing significant health challenges with strength, grace, and resilience. Bob approached life with a determined spirit and never allowed adversity to define who he was.
Born on February 5, 1956, in Mt. Vernon, NY, Bob was the son of the late Robert Irwin Coleman and Dorothy (Hamm) Ganrude. As a young boy, he moved with his family from New York to Johnson City, Tennessee, and later to Dundalk, Maryland, where he grew up. He graduated from Patterson High School in Baltimore City, MD, Class of 1974.
After high school, Bob embarked on a successful career in the tire sales industry. He began his journey with Montgomery Ward and later transitioned to commercial tire sales with Toyo Tires and, eventually, Continental Tires. His work took him around the globe-traveling frequently, which he truly enjoyed. Over the years, he earned a reputation as a dedicated professional and a well-respected figure in his field.
In the early 1980s, Bob was an avid off-road racer, proudly joining the ECHO Racing Club, where he formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things nature. His passion for boating and tog fishing led him to Delaware, where he made his home near the bay. Whether on the water or in the company of family and friends, Bob always found joy in life's simple pleasures.
More than his hobbies, Bob's greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 28 years, Sandra Coleman. Bob's love for his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family knew no bounds. He was a warm and caring presence who always made those around him feel valued and loved.
Bob was never short of interesting stories and jokes. His sense of humor-often raw and bold-endeared him to many. While not for everyone, those who loved him adored his candidness and wit. His easygoing nature and love for life meant he never met a stranger and was always ready with a friendly conversation, a joke, or a helping hand.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in passing by his sister, Patricia Parrott. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Coleman; his two sons: Charlie and Jack Coleman; his daughter-in-law, Audrey Coleman; and his two granddaughters: Isabella and Elena Coleman, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM. The interment will be private.

Bob and I were proud to be the "senior" members of our adult softball team and typically relegated to pitching duties. I will miss my friend and his awesome sense of humor and spirit.
