ROBERT B. COLWELL Robert B. Colwell, 88, of Hallstead, PA peacefully passed away on July 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth Colwell and stepmother, Marcella Colwell; also predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 61 years, Shelby J. Colwell; a son, Mark Colwell; sister, Joyce (Jim) Valentine; a brother, Willard Colwell; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws. Bob is survived by his five children, Dennis (Marty) Colwell, Denise (Rick) Everett, David (Kevin) Colwell, Michael (Donna) Colwell, and Margie (Larry) French; daughter-in-law, Lisa Colwell; grandchildren, Desmond Col-Wells, Kristy (Dan) VanDeWeert, Kelly (Jeff) Clark, Paul (Lisa) Everett, Leyna (Louis) Colwell, Erica (Andrew) Ginther, Tricia (Ryan) Davis, Robert (Mandy) Colwell, Tracy (Josh) Colwell, Austin (Emily) French, and Corbin French; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Edward (Dorthea) Colwell, Paul Colwell, Harold (Lorraine) Colwell, Eugene Colwell, Esther Frantz, Debbie (Robert) Wood; sister-in-law, Mina Smallacombe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Bob graduated from Great Bend High School. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Shelby. They worked hard on the farm and raised six children. He had various jobs, including being a cattle dealer, auction business, clothing store, and his "retirement" work for Emerson Apartments. Bob was an active member of the Odd Fellows and longtime Sexton of Newman Cemetery. He was a member of Locust Hill Bible Church and more recently the First United Methodist Church, New Milford, PA. Bob always worked hard, never complained, and was always willing to help others. His love for Shelby, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was evident in everything he did. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on July 26, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church, New Milford, PA. Inurnment will be made in Newman Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:30-3:30, at the church prior to the service.
