Robert "Bob" Daniel Cook, age 77, passed away on Tuesday Nov 11, 2025, at UPMC Jameson surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born Feb 6, 1948 in Greenville, PA, to Daniel Cook and Hattie Melissa Baber Cook. He attended Greenville High school completing the 10th grade. Bob worked for many years as a receiving clerk for Steel Car & then Trinity Industries.
Bob enjoyed playing music with several bands through his life, playing both lead guitar and steel guitar. He was a member of his local areas music association for many years. He also enjoyed providing sound for the West Salem boy scouts. Later on Bob learned and mastered the trade of taxidermy for 5 years. He was also a Ham Radio operator and enjoyed talking both on his Ham radio and CB radio. He was a member of a local CB radio club in 1985 and for several years. Bob was known for his many 4th of July parties where he would roast turkeys on the spit. He loved working with his hands making anything with wood, hunting, fishing, and playing "Santa" for many years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Janet Barry Cook, whom he married Aug 30, 1975, his four children: Ellen Cook of Greenville, Nicole (Steve) Wood of Greenville, Melissa (Paul) Francis of Niles, OH, Daniel (Liana) Cook of Jamestown, and 7 grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind two sisters, Joyce "Susie" (Melvin) Shrock of Greenville, Shirley (John) Rizzo of Oil City, sister-in-law Darlene of North Carolina and 5 nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Zupen, Paul Zupen, and Gary Cook, a sister Betty Jane Cook, a nephew and his former wife Marilyn A Carlson Cook Brown whom passed on June, 27, 2023.
Please join us in celebrating his life Friday Nov 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., with funeral service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Jones officiating. Private burial will take place at Shenango Valley Cemetery.
