Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Service - BismarckRobert T. (Bob) Copenhaver, 78, of Bismarck passed into Glory, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck following a fight with cancer.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6th at New Life Church, 1320 Tacoma Ave, Bismarck.
A Prayer and Worship Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 5th at New Life Church.
Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Bob was born June 21, 1947, at Glasgow, MT to Ernest and Annette Copenhaver. He lived in Oilmont, Hinsdale, Joplin, MT; and graduated from High School in Culbertson, MT. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University, Bozeman, MT. Bob worked for MDU for 37 years.
Bob was Director of Healing Rooms of the Northern Plains along with his wife, Lola, for 23 years, and Regional Director for the International Assoc. of Healing Rooms. Bible reading and prayer were a part of each day for Bob. He belonged to many groups including Barbershop Choir, AA, Optimists, Pastors’ Prayer groups, coffee groups, and New Life Church.
Bob and Lola traveled to many countries together. Bob enjoyed family vacations, fishing trips, and men’s fellowships. He enjoyed life, loved Jesus, and would pray for others immediately. Lola often told him, “You’re the best husband in the world for me.” He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything.
He is survived by his wife, Lola, of one month short of 36 years; 4 children: Michelle Degerness of Whitefish, MT; Mike (Cheryl) Copenhaver of Helena, MT; Stacey (Bob) Olander, Stanton, ND; Melissa (Mike) Dowty, Lincoln, NE. Twelve grandchildren: Jon (Bethany), Elisa (Daynne), Jeremiah, Joshua, Hannah, Josiah, Samantha, Ben, Dani, Kylie, Mason, Theodore; one brother, Ernie (Kim) Copenhaver of Sparks, NV; one sister, Cheryl Hyndman of Helena, MT, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Annette Copenhaver; an infant sister; his stepmother, Edie Copenhaver; his brother, Jerry (and Sandi) Copenhaver; his brother-in-law, Roger Hyndman.
