Sharon Copenhaver, 85, of McClure, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. The kindest, most beautiful, and selfless soul.
Born in McClure, Sharon lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. She was known for her warm smile, dedication to helping others in her nursing career of 50 years and beyond, and her unwavering love and generosity.
In Sharon's free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, giving to those in need, and spending time with her beloved family. Sharon took pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and succeed. Sharon will be dearly missed by all. To know Sharon was to love Sharon.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents James Kuhns, and Pearl (Kennedy) Kuhns-Thomas, her husband, Lewis Copenhaver, Jr., sisters, Mildred Royer and Jean Martin, and step-siblings, Terry Thomas and Barb Bitner.
Sharon is survived by her 5 children, Lewis (Melissa), Shawn (Sheila), Jeff (Amy), Lavonne (Bill), and Todd (Trihn); 11 grandchildren: Adam, April (Mark), Nate, Nic, Colton (Mackenzie), Brandon, Lea (Zach), Ian (Allison), Mikala, Mackenzie, and Paige; 5 great-grandchildren, Waylon, Chloe, Ember, Ashton, and Ryker; and step-siblings, Gary Thomas and wife Kay, and Dan Thomas. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Sharon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday January 3, 2025 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 South Main Street, Lewistown, with Rev. John Harwood officiating. There will be a viewing held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday January 2, 2025 at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville PA 17084.
Burial will take place in St. Mark's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Sharon's memory are respectfully encouraged to: St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main Street, Lewistown PA 17044.
