Robert Matthew Corey, 80, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born and raised in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn and settled in Freehold in 1983. Robert was the Vice President of Securities Lending on Wall Street prior to retiring. He had many hobbies which included golfing and bowling. Robert enjoyed horse racing and was a regular at Freehold Raceway, and was also an avid Rangers fan. Though he was impressive in many ways, his claim to fame was that as a basketball player, he played a championship game at Madison Square Garden.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaretann Corey; daughter, Megan Corey; sister-in-law, Constance McMillin; nieces and nephews, Sarah Genovese, Jaimie McMillin and Christopher McMillin; and many loving extended family members and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. William the Abbot Church, 2740 Lakewood-Allenwood Road, Howell.
